Elocution Event on Vision 2020 to Mark Dr. Kalam’s Birthday

Mangaluru, Oct 13, 2015: In view of inculcating a sense of forward thinking among students and to provide a platform for them to express their views on India’s future, Centre for Integrated Learning in association with Lions Club Mangalore and Department of Public Instruction - Dakshina Kannada, will be organizing an Inter-School Elocution Event at Lion Seva Mandir in the city on October 15 to mark the Birth Anniversary of visionary former President of India, Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam.
 
The elocution contest being organized both in Kannada and English is focused on the topic “Our Role in Realising Kalam’s Vision 2020). The event will be participated by over 25 schools from in and around Mangalore with close to hundred speakers expressing their opinion. “ It is a tribute to our beloved leader whose birthday is being observed meaningfully following sad demise a couple of months ago”, according to the organizers of the event.

The day long deliberations will also feature documentaries on Vision 2020, the visionary President Kalam and his life. The winners of the event will express their opinion during the valedictory programme. Chief Executive Officer of Zilla Panchayat, P I Sreevidya will be the chief guest during the valedictory session and 94-year old newly designated Chief Traffic Warden of Mangalore City Joe Gonzalves will be the guest of honour.
