District health has not yet risen to required standards

District health has not yet risen to required standards

Mangalore Today News Network

Mangaluru, Aug 26, 2015:  Taking up issues related to government hospitals,  public interest and trying to provide justice to the poor, Karnataka State Human Rights Commission (KSHRC) member Justice C G Hunagunda has said that the district hospitals should not be under-equipped, in comparison to super specialty hospitals.

The KSHRC member interacted after accepting the complaints from the public during a grievance meet.   He stated he observes that District hospitals still lack basic facilities. There is an increase in the number of old age homes, but there is no cell to look after it’s functioning and administration, which is a matter of concern. Instead of merely constructing night shelters for the destitute, it is better to properly run the  shelters. He added that even the Constitution has given importance to the protection of human rights.
