Derebail parish priest Fr Joseph Lobo no more

Mangaluru, Oct 7, 2015: The sad untimely and sudden demise of Fr Joseph Lobo, the parish priest of Most Holy Redeemer Church, Derebail  on Tuesday, October 6 evening has come a shock to many citizens. Fr Joseph Lobo 58 yrs old,  hailed from Loretto parish near Bantwal.

 

It is reported that Fr Joseph was at his residence at around 8.30 pm, and suddenly collapsed. He was rushed to a private hospital where was declared brought dead. The cause suspected to be a massive heart attack.

Born on May 18, 1957 to Gregory and Elizabeth Lobo, Fr Joseph Lobo was ordained on April 19, 1983. He served as assistant parish priest of Valencia from 1983 to 1985 and of Bejai for a year in 1985-’86, after which he took charge as parish priest of Permude. He served there till 1993, and then became the parish priest of Arva (1993-2000), Kolalgiri (2000-2002), Niddodi (2008-2015) and Derebail (from this year). Between 2002 and 2008, he served as procurator at the diocesan office.

The funeral details are awaited today.
