Mangalore, Sep 23, 2014 DHNS:  The officers and staff of 33 departments under Dakshina Kannada district administration and Zilla Panchayat who worked in their respective offices on the last weekend have cleared near  50 per cent of the pending files. The government offices remained open on last Saturday and Sunday to clear pending files as a part of the State government’s file clearance drive.

Of the 45,311 pending files, as many as 21,525 files were cleared while 25,135 filed are still pending for clearance. Majority of the files were pending in revenue department. Mangalore City Corporation performed well by clearing 3,052 of the 3,749 pending files.
