Mangalore Today News Network

UJIRE, Sep 03, 2014:  A team of officials from Childline visited Nittade government school, following a complaint on corporal punshment to a eighth standard student, by Hindi teacher.

It was said that the boy had severe headache and was sleeping by placing his hand on the desk.  The teacher hit his hand and woke him up. He had suffered injury on his hand.

The student had complained to the child helpline. The helpline had handed over the complaint to the CWC. As the teacher and SDMC came to know of the complaint, they pressurised the boy and his family to withdraw the complaint.  The team could not get details as the head teacher and the accused teacher were not in the school.
