Udupi, Aug 27,2015 : According to a  press release Aug 26,   Sri Bhuvanendra College will organise a two-day UGC-sponsored national seminar on ‘Contemporary literary discourses in Indian English’ at Karkala in Udupi district on August 28 and 29.

Pushpinder Syal, Professor of English in Punjab University, Chandigarh, will deliver the keynote address. The event will be held at Sri Bhuvanendra College in Karkala on August 28, 29

Topics which would be discussed in the seminar include “Political and cultural dimensions in Indian English,” “Contemporary critical discourses in Indian English,” Contemporary literary debates in regional literatures,” “Contemporary Dalit literary discourses,” and “Contemporary feminist scholarships in India.” Mahadeva, Professor of English, Mysore University, Mysuru; R.G. Hegde, member of the Academic Council, Women’s University, Vijayapura; M.G. Hegde, Chairman, Department of English, Dr. A.V. Baliga College, Kumta; S.G. Dolle Gouder, Principal, S.B. Arts College, Kalaburgi; Nataraj Huliyar, Professor of English, Bangalore University; Deepta Achar, Professor of English, M.S. University, Vadodara; and B.Y. Patil, Chairman, Department of Studies in English, Alva’s P.G. Centre, Moodabidri, will present the papers on different topics.

Ravishankar Rao, Chairman, Department of Studies in English, Mangalore University, will deliver the valedictory speech, the release mentioned.
