Mangalore, Dec 4: John D’Souza of Kunjattabail, a member of the Congress Party, and Sharat, the BJP corporator of the area, lodged complaints against each other at the local police station.

Sources reveal that, in spite of his promises, Sharat had failed to get a road in the area repaired. John D’Souza allegedly made a telephonic call to Sharat at around 9 p.m. on Dec 2, Tuesday, and abused him for failing to do his work.

Allegedly, Sharat and his supporters barged into John D’Souza’s house and beat him up. The women who tried to save John were also not spared.

Five members of John D’Souza’s family got admitted to the hospital although they show no signs of injury.

John lodged a complaint against Sharath and his supporters Sanat, Diwaker, and others, accusing them of trespass and assault. Sharat also lodged a complaint at the police station that John had made an abusive phone call late in the night and used derogatory words against his parents.

The police have registered both the cases and are currently investigating the case.
