Coffee growers association meet at Madikeri

Madikeri, Aug 27, 2014  :   Addressing coffee growers here on August 26,  Coffee Growers Association President M B Devaiah said  that owing to heavy rainfall, coffee growers lose their crops every year. The growers seek financial assistance and loan waiver every year. In this background, there is a need for permanent package to help the coffee growers who are in distress.

“The MPs from Hassan, Chikmagalur and Kodagu will meet Commerce and Finance Minister and will appraise them of the need for the package,” he said.  The two MLAs of the district should not have remained absent to the meeting convened to discuss on the problems faced by the coffee growers. The coffee growers appealed to the MP to look into the variation in the price of coffee in the international market.

Zilla Panchayat President Chodumada Shareen Subbaiah, Vice President Allaranda Beena Bollamma, members Shantheyanda Ravi Kushalappa, among others were present.
