Car hits mini bus, man killed and two injured

Udupi, Apr 28, 2016: Reports indicate one person was killed and two others injured when a car hit a bus at Mudar village, which comes under Karkala Rural police station limits, in Udupi district on Wednesday, Apr 27.

It is stated, the deceased is identified as Nischit Gowda (26), the car driver. According to the police, one Rajendra Rao was driving his mini bus from Karimarukatte to Kadari when a car, going from Bajagoli to Karkala, tried to overtake. The car veered to the right and hit the bus. The accident occurred around 8.30 a.m.

The car driver suffered serious injuries. A woman and a child, who too were in the car, suffered minor injuries.

Nischit was given first aid at the government hospital in Karkala, and then shifted to Kasturba Hospital in Manipal, when he died around 10.45 a.m.  A case had been registered at the Karkala Rural police station and investigations are in progress.
