Mangaluru, April 28, 2015 :   Dr Elizabeth Daniel, recognised Child Psychologist, Professor of Clinical Psychology at Yenepoya Medical College, Deralakatte stressed the need for CGC-Child Guidance Centre, due to stress on parents and expectation from children sky rocketing.  Department of Psychiatry KMC Hospital Attavar in Mangaluru has initiated a new step in care and management of children and adolescents with behavioural, emotional and academic problems. A CGC  was inaugurated at the KMC Hospital Attavar recently.  

 Dr M V Prabhu, Dean of KMC Mangalore,  highlighted the importance of CGC even at community level. Dr Elizabeth delivered a talk on ’Specific Learning Disability (SLD) and its Various Types’; Syam K Ravindran, Assistant Professor in Clinical Psychology spoke on ’Holistic Management of SLD’; Sudeep P K, a consultant Clinical Psychologist at Brindavan Hospital, Mysore spoke about the ’Home-based Management of SLD’ . Dr Anand Venugopal, Medical superintendent of KMC Hospital, Attavar stated  the facility of CGC will be available on all working days, Monday to Saturday from 9 am to 5 pm.
