CASK to Honor Widows

CASK to Honor Widows

Mangalore Today News Network

Mangalore Nov 14: The annual reunion of the Catholic Association of South Kanara (CASK) will be organized on Nov 22, Sunday at St Aloysius High School, Mangalore, during which the association will honor widows. The programme will include a mass in St Aloysius Chapel and a dinner reception at the High School Hall.

CASK has decided to honor members of the Catholic community who were widowed at the age of 40 or earlier and had to single-handedly bring up their children. The association will also consider individuals who were widowed at the age of 45 or below when their children were below the ages of 12. Last year, the association honored couples who had been married for 50 years or more.

The association has identified 85 women and 4 men from Mangalore and 24 people from Chennai, Mumbai, and Bangalore to receive the honor. About 70 of these people are expected to attend the reunion.

Neil D’Souza, the secretary of CASK, said: “We have received a positive response so far. Many of these people appreciate CASK for deciding to honor them.”
