Basadi theft

Basadi theft

Mangalore Today News Network

Magalore, Aug 20, 2014: Thieves gained entry into Parshwanatha Jain Basadi at Badagakajekar and decamped with gold ornaments in the wee hours of Tuesday.

The decamped ornaments are two pairs of ‘Hithale gaggara,’ golden karimani of Goddess Padmavathi, ear stud and a chain of Basavana statue.

The basadi belongs to Kakyapadavy Ratnakumar Ariga family. No pooja rituals were held in the basadi for the last few months. In fact, thieves had made futile attempt to plunder the Basadi on earlier occasions.
