Barke PSI nabs a culprit involved in attack on Jayakirana news paper

LathiefMangalore, March 19: Urva police have arrested a culprit, who was suspected to be involved in the attack on Jayakirana news paper, Kannada evening paper.


Earlier, police nabbed a person from the city for his alleged involvement in the attack on Kannada Prabha daily. Both attacks were reported in the same day.


Abdul Lathief (29), resident of Neermarga is now in police custody.  The investigation is on.


Lathief is a fish seller. Shivabagh is his main place of business. It is said that Bittupade Nazeer, brother-in-law of Lathief, is one of the main accused, who led a team to attack on jayakirana news paper. He formed a six person’s team to attack. He also arranged four two wheelers to travel to Bejai.


After the attack all the culprits, excluding lathief, were eloped from the scene to different places. Only, Lathief continued his profession of selling fish.


Police said that, when they tried to trace the culprits, they received information about Lathief. They have succeeded to arrest lathief, while he was passing through Shivbagh to sell fish.
