Autos, other facilities to be distributed on Friday

Udupi, Jan 15, 2015 : The Muslim Welfare Association would be providing financial help and other facilities to financially backward members of the community here on Friday.

Addressing presspersons here on Wednesday, Mohammed Maula, former president of the association, said that the association would provide autorickshaws to three Muslim drivers from the money collected under the Zakat fund. A monthly income would be provided to two persons living at Pragati Nagar in Manipal, who had no source of income and also suffered from health ailments.

The association will be constructing a house for a poor woman Nabisa at Mallar village near Kaup at an estimated cost of Rs. 1.5 lakh. As many as six religious schools imparting education to poor students would be given financial assistance this year.

All these facilities would be distributed to the beneficiaries at a function to be held at the Jamia Masjid here at 6.30 p.m. on Friday.

Mohammed Kunhi, supervisor of Shanti Prakashana, Mangalore, Abdul Jaleel Saheb, Managing Director of Halima Sabju auditorium, and T.S. Budan Basha, President of Jamia Masjid, would be the chief guests.
