Austin D’Souza Prabhu delivers special lecture on leadership

Mangalore, Jan 2: Mr. Austin D’Souza Prabhu, the previous district governor of Lions Club International, Chicago, delivered a lecture on leadership to MBA students on the campus of St Joseph Engineering College (SJEC) on Jan 1, Friday. 

Mr. Prabhu’s lecture was one of the SJEC – MBA Special Lecture Series organized by the college.  Dr. Prakash Pinto, the dean of MBA, introduced the speaker and gave the welcome speech.

Throughout his lecture, Prabhu provided examples from his own life. He laid emphasis on what he called the 5-S, which stand for sort, shine, separate, standardize, and sustain, as a way to inculcate discipline in personal as well as professional life. He also stressed the importance of forming groups of like-minded individuals to foster the sharing of knowledge and ideas and thereby work for the development of the community. 

Prabhu interacted with the members of the faculty of MBA after his special lecture.

Dr. Joseph Gonsalves, the principal of SJEC; and Fr Valerian D’Souza, the personnel manager of SJEC, spoke to the audience and wished them a happy New Year. Lavina Sequeria, a senior lecturer, expressed gratitude. 

H R Alva, the proprietor of Maria Advertisers; and Prof Godfrey Pinto, the personnel manager of SJEC, were the dignitaries on the dais.
