Udupi, July 30 2016: Speaking at a farewell function  Dr. R. Vishal, who recently demitted the office of the Deputy Commissioner, said  that there was ample scope for development of tourism and education sectors in Udupi district.

Dr. Vishal said that though he had served as DC, Deputy Commissioner at different places since 2009, his tenure as Deputy Commissioner of a small district such as Udupi gave him the maximum experience and satisfaction. “In any department, 10 per cent of the staff worked without any prompting, while 10 per cent of staff did not do their work. It was up to the remaining 80 per cent to work efficiently to prompt the latter 10 per cent to work,” he said.

Personnel and officials of the government departments should realise that work alone defined them, he said and thanked everyone for their cooperation during his tenure.   K. Annamalai, Superintendent of Police, said that Dr. Vishal was a disciplined person, a hard task master and an able administrator.

Priyanka Mary Francis, in-charge Deputy Commissioner, presided over the function.  G. Anuradha, Additional Deputy Commissioner, welcomed the gathering. D. Manjunathayya, Commissioner of Udupi City Municipal Council, T.J. Guruprasad, Udupi tahsildar, V. Prasanna, Project Director of Urban Development Cell, S. Yogishwar, Deputy Director of Food and Civil Supplies, and others were present.
