Alyosians to create music history in January 2017

Mangaluru, Oct 22, 2016: In a media information it is revealed that Music will bring together thousands of alumni of 130-year-old St Aloysius College at the "oncert for St Aloysius ’17"in January.

The concert will see more than 15 old and new bands formed at St Aloysius campus perform on January 7. "The idea of the concert was to bring together all Aloysian music talents under one roof. Apart from it, the event aims to revisit the old memories," said Daryl Andrade, a musician, advocate and an alumni of St Aloysius.

He shared that the mega event expected to see a footfall of around 3,000 to 5,000 people, consisting of alumni, their families and others. The entire concert will be organized and performed by the alumni of the college. Bands as old as 35-40 years to latest college bands will be a part of the event. They will showcase some of the fantastic musicians, both Eastern and Western, of all genres.


"The line-up will consist of Carnatic/Hindi classical, Bollywood/ Kannada/Hindi film songs/ Konkani, Classic Rock, pop/country and other music genres," Daryl added.  There will be a nominal entry free for the concert.

Fr Swebert D’Silva, principal of St Aloysius College added that the proceedings of the entire concert will go to educational institution’s charitable activities like education to students, mid-day meal scheme and other activities.

The college and staff have been instrumental in encouraging and forthcoming on all fronts to ensure the show is a thumping success and becomes a bi-annual event.
