Mangalore, Dec. 30: The Aloysian Conclave and Awards Function will be organized on Jan 3, 2010, at AIMIT, the new campus for Management and Information Technology of St. Aloysius College at Beeri, Kotekar, Ullal. St Aloysius College, Aloysian Partners from North America (APNA), and Aloysian Partners International (API) will jointly organize this event.

The programme will commence at 10:30 a.m. Five eminent Aloysian alumni from all walks of life will be honored during this occasion. The annual aloysian lecture, delivered by Shri Amruth Someshwar, will follow the awards function. 

Lt Gen Nanda of Coorg, an octogenarian army general; Shri Amruth Someshwar, a literary figure from Mangalore; Dr. Stan D’Souza, the eminent scientist from BARC, Mumbai; Mr. Lawrence D’Souza, the entrepreneur and philanthropist from Kuwait; and Capt J P Menezes, the former president of Kanara Chamber of Commerce, will receive the Eminent Aloysian Award of this year. 

The conclave is being organized for the past 2 years. Distinguished alumni such as Justice Santhosh Hegde, Dr Devi Prasad Shetty; Mr Vinaya Hegde; Mr Ananthrkrishna; Mr Victor Pais; USA; Mr Ivan Fernandes, CEO, DUCONT; Mr K V Rao, Scientist,Sweden; Mr Rajesh Rao, CEO, Druva Interactives; Mr. Eric Ozario, Mangalore are the previous recipients of the Eminent Aloysian Awards. 

The event will be organized in the air-conditioned, spacious auditorium of the newly constructed campus at Beeri, Kotekar. The new campus features excellent infra-structure. Recently, Mr. Max Rasquinha, another alumnus, donated beautiful paintings for the adornment of the campus. 

The event presents a grand opportunity for the friends and alumni of the St. Aloysius Institution to visit the site for Management and IT studies, which is earmarked to be among the best business and IT schools of India, the XLRI of the south.
