All India Sub Junior badminton tourney July 21- 27

Udupi, July 21, 2014:  Speaking at All India Sub Junior Ranking Badminton tournament, at Udupi indoor stadium July 20, Minister for Youth Services and Sports Abhayachandra Jain stated, Rs 20 lakh has been released for laying lawns inside the synthetic track, at Ajjarakadu Mahatma Gandhi stadium Udupi says a news report.

The minister stated,  State government has released Rs five lakh for organising the ’All India Sub-Junior Badminton Tournament’. The work on swimming pool is set to be completed at the earliest.

A pool to meet the international standard will be constructed at Udupi in the future. The tournament will be held at four badminton courts at Ajjarakadu, Manipal and MIT. The qualifying rounds will be held till July 23. The main rounds will be held from July 24.

MLA Pramod Madhwaraj presided over the programme. CMC President P Yuvaraj, Manipal University Pro Chancellor Dr H S Ballal and others were present. The tournament is tol commence July 21 and conclude on July 27.
