Mangaluru, Feb 04, 2016:  Women empowerment activist and Padma Shri awardee Aunitha Krishnan would be visiting her alma mater— School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya — here on Feb 4 & 5, Thursday and Friday.

Padma Shri, A Krishnan is an activist who has received various awards and acclamation, stated a media note by the college. Various social movements that she has initiated have inspired thousands of youngsters in the country.

Padma Shri Krishnan works in the areas of anti-human trafficking, emotional rehabilitation and social policy. She has worked to bring about a change in the attitude of the Union government for victim-friendly policies as well as an awareness regarding sex trafficking, through political, legal and media advocacy.

Her organisation, Prajwala, has an international reputation and  she is regularly consulted, in addition to the Indian authorities, by the United Nations and the U.S. government. Aunitha  Krishnan would be felicitated at 9.30 a.m. on the college premises today Feb 4, after which she would be interacting with the students.
