Mangaluru, May 4, 2016: Participants at grievances meet of people from the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes from DK district on May 3, Tuesday were upset by the indifferent attitude of the KSRTC, Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation in displaying destination boards thereby nullifying the public bus services.

One participant stated that buses plying to Puttur, Dharmasthala and other destinations from Mangaluru did not have display boards at the rear. Thus, commuters would get confused while boarding the buses, particularly when they miss the destination board in front.  The person said,  despite bringing this shortcoming to the notice of KSRTC officials several times, they did not bother to rectify the problem.

The police too were informed about the lack of closed circuit television cameras at B.C. Road Junction as well as B.C. Road bus stand. He said due to this, several crimes, including picking pockets etc., are increasing,  SP S D  Sharanappa said directions would be issued. Responding to a suggestion to curtail speed of vehicles on Bantwal-Ujire Road near Maddadka in the wake of frequent accidents, the SP said that barricades would be erected.
