40.74% polling in APMC elections

Mangaluru, Jan 12, 2017: Reports indicate that in Dakshina Kannada district, 40.74% polling was registered in the elections to APMC directors’ posts on January 12, Thursday.

Of 1,37,305 voters, 13,560 exercised their franchise. Mangaluru APMC registered 36.22% polling while Bantwal registered 44.85% polling and Belthangady APMC registered 41.14% polling.

Mangaluru APMC has 14 posts. There are 32,968 voters. Among them, 11,942 voters exercised their franchise. Bantwal APMC has 14 posts and 50,167 voters. Among them, 22,497 voters exercised their franchise. Of the 54,170 voters in Belthangady, 22,288 cast their vote.

The counting of votes will be held on January 14.
