Mangaluru, Aug 03, 2018: The Akhila Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) has organised ‘selfie for drug-free campus’ as part of its ‘selfie with campus’ campaign.

The initiative is aimed at creating awareness on ill-effects of drugs.

ABVP secretary Mrinala Shetty said that Mangaluru was known as an education hub and unfortunately drug menace had been on the rise on the college campuses. “Even the students from rural areas are falling prey to the menace. The state government has failed to take any action against the drug mafia,” he said.

As part of the campaign, the ABVP activists will visit college campuses in Mangaluru and click a selfie with the students while creating  awareness about harmful effects of drugs.

The ‘selfie with campus’ programme will conclude on August 4. The campaign is aimed at developing patriotic fervour in students.
