Mangaluru, Aug 29, 2018: State Minister for Housing and Urban Development U T Khader has said that e-governance would be implemented in the Mangaluru City Corporation soon in order to make the city a model city in every way.
He was speaking after laying the foundation stone for various projects as well as inaugurating some projects at the newly named Kudmul Rangarao Town Hall on August 29, Wednesday. Projects worth Rs 472.41 crores were launched on the occasion.
In his speech Khader urged the MCC to develop the Kadri park junction road as well as the Wenlock Hospital. He also hailed the contributions of Kudmul Rangarao towards the society and said MCC did the right thing by naming the Town Hall after such a great personality
MP Nalin Kumar Kateel who spoke on the occasion said the Railway Department has given its approval for the Jeppu Mahakalipadpu railway bridge. As the MCC is unable to fund the project, the state government should strive in this regard, he said adding Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has held meetings on Tuesday to discuss the Pumpwell and Thokkottu Flyover issues. The Navayug company has assured to complete the project by January, he added.
MLA Vedavyas Kamath, Mayor Bhasker Moily, Deputy Mayor Mohammad K, Standing Committee presidents Praveenchandra Alva, Latha Salian, Naveen D’Souza, Corporator Diwaker, former mayor Shashidhar Hegde, former deputy mayor Rajaneesh Kapikad were present among others.
