Heavy vehicles banned on Balebare Ghat

Udupi, Aug 23, 2018: The Udupi district administration has banned the movement of heavy vehicles on the Balebare Ghat on State Highway 52 connecting Udupi with Shivamogga.  The ban would remain in force until further notice.

 

A press release states Udupi Deputy Commissioner Priyanka Mary Francis said that the movement of heavy vehicles would damage the road and bridges on the Balebare Ghat road.

As such, all heavy vehicles including bullet tankers, fish cargo containers, long chassis vehicles, heavy commercial vehicles, multi-axle trucks, truck trailers have been banned from using this Balebare Ghat road.
