Mangaluru, Aug 02, 2018: A group of young women claiming themselves to be from Ranipura in Rajasthan are seen in some parts of the city seeking alms by claiming that they have lost everything due to floods and are now destitutes who are in dire need of food and clothing.
But surprisingly, all these young women seeking alms are well dressed, some of them with their hair coloured and also sporting tie and shoes.
They have in their hand a xerox copy of a handout mentioning their plight and are spotted near colleges and places where youngsters hang around. But they do not have any identity cards or police permission letters with them.
Some people who have come across these girls point out that they are in the city since eight months. If a person donates Rs 100 they would manipulate the receipt copy by adding another zero to the amount so that others could give them more alms.
Kadri Police personnel have informed that they have registered a case against these young women and have let them off with a warning.
