Minister in-charge of the district B. Ramanath Rai, who felicitated the recipients, said that it was the responsibility of youngsters to take care of elders. Youngsters should lend their ear to elders who tend to get depressed when neglected. The State government was committed towards fine-tuning services meant for senior citizens, he said.

The function was delayed by 90 minutes as minister Rai said that a “pressing engagement” delayed him.
