Youth killed by speeding Maruthi van at Basrur

Kundapur, Jan 16, 2018 : In a tragic incident, a youth who rushed to help the accident victims was knocked down by speeding car near his residence at Basrur on January 15, night.

 

Nithin Poojary (21)son of Sanjeeva and Revathi couple ,residents of Basrur is identified as the deceased. He was a third year BCA student of Bhandarkar’s College.

Sources said that bus crashed a car near Nithin’s house on Monday night. He along with his friend rushed to help the accident victims, but unfortunately were kncocked down by a speeding car. Both of them suffered injuries, were rushed to Manipal Hospital. Nithin unable to respond to treatment breathed his last on January 16,Tuesday morning.

The driver of the Maruthi van managed to flee leaving the vehicle. Police have seized the vehicle.

Kundapur police have registered the case.
