Youth in custody under POCSO Act

Udupi, July 15, 2015 :  According to a police statement, they  arrested two men belonging on the charge of teasing, stalking and harassing a 17-year-old girl belonging to another community at Koteshwar village under Kundapur police station on July 13. 

A minor girl  standing at a bus stop at Koteshwar to go home after attending classes.  Three men, about 19 yrs age, teased her and one of them allegedly gave her a note with a mobile number.

The girl told a nearby shopkeeper about it. The local residents caught the two men, while the third managed to flee. The policearrived  and took  them. Police registered a case under POCSO -  Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act based on the complaint given by the minor at the Kundapur police station.

The two were produced before the District and Sessions Court in Udupi on July 13 and were remanded in judicial custody for 14 days.
