Youth gets lifer for raping elderly woman

Mangaluru, Nov 19, 2014: The VI Additional District and Sessions Court has convicted a young man in  a case of  raping an elderly woman. The convict is Nagesh (25), a labourer. The court has sentenced him to life for rape, robbery, criminal intimidation and trespass.  The court has also slapped a penalty of Rs 12000 on him. The amount will be handed over to the victim as compensation.
 
rape The incident had taken place  in the year 2013 when Nagesh  was working as a labourer under a contractor who was in-charge of constructing a house for the daughter of the victim.

As per the charge sheet filed by the Mangalore Rural Police,  Nagesh had entered the woman’s house while she was alone and raped her  at knife point despite the 69 year woman pleading him against doing so by   trying to make him understand that he was younger to her own children. The man had later fled the place after robbing jewellery worth Rs 50,000 and a cash of Rs 5500.

Mangalore Rural Police had investigated the case.
