Youth dies; 2 critical as pick-up vehicle rams into lorry

Brahmavar, May 19, 2019: A youth lost his life while two others sustained serious injuries when a  pick-up vehicle rammed into a lorry from behind on the National Highway 66 near Uppoor during the early hours of May 19, Sunday.

The deceased is Hanumanthappa (18), son of Shivappa and Lakshmamma couple of Badami taluk in Bagalakote. The pick-up driver Shivappa (22) also of Badami and another labourer of North Karnataka origin were injured.

The three were  on way to Ambalpady after completing works pertaining to a function at Kundapur on Saturday night.  The mishap occurred as the driver of the pick-up  lost control over the vehicle.

Brahmavar Police have registered  a case.
