Youth arrested in fake FB account case ; 5 more nabbed for assaulting him

Mangaluru, Dec 6, 2014 : The Moodbidri police have arrested a youth named Imtiyaz of Kotebagilu on the charges of trying to cheat girls through a fake Facebook account  wherein a posted a picture of his clad in the attire of a Hindu activist.

Meanwhile, police have also arrested  five  activists of a Hindu organisation for reportedly thrashing Imtiyaz. Sources, said the youth in his Facebook page in the name of one Mahesh had posted a picture of his with  saffron shawl and a saffron thread on wrists  reportedly to convince a lady working in a private firm that he was a Hindu. It is learnt, the woman had fallen into his trap.

But when some Hindu activists came to know of his true colour, they reportedly assaulted him at Swaraj Maidan.

The accused youth have been identified as Naveen, Vinayak, Prasad, Sunil and Sachin.

All the arrested were produced before the court on Friday and were later released on bail.

Meanwhile, it has been gathered that the fake FB account of Imtiyaz  has not been deleted  as to yet.
