Youth arrested for attempt to molest US student at a cyber

Mangaluru, Nov 22, 2014: Mangalore City Police on  November 21, Friday arrested a person for an alleged attempt to molest an Indian born US national student at a cyber-centre at Deralakatte a few days back.

 

The accused has been identified as Abubakker Siddique, aged about 30, a resident of Madani Nagar nearby. Konaje police said, the accused has been remanded to judicial custody till December 3.

Police Commissioner R Hithendra said the incident had taken place a couple of days back. The girl, about 19, a BSc Nursing student had gone to a cyber-centre where the accused misbehaved with the girl. The victim filed the compliant late as she was threatened. He has been charged under IPC 354 (Assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) and 307 (Attempt to murder).
