Youth Congress stages protest; demands reduction in petrol prices

Mangaluru, Feb 20, 2015:  The Youth Congress Members sold   petrol at Rs 30 per litre during a protest staged on February 19, Thursday to pressurise the Union Government to reduce petrol prices.

Addressing the protestors, District Youth Congress President Mithun Rai charged the Centre of failure to reduce petrol prices  after taking into consideration international oil prices. He also recalled that the erstwhile UPA government was providing petrol at Rs 67 per litre  when the international price was 145 dollars per barrel as against the 45 dollars per barrel at present.

He was further critical of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and alleged that he had failed in keeping up his promises on getting back black money.

Several Youth Congress leaders and workers including Ravindradas, Secretary, Praveenchandra Alva and others participated in the protest.
