Youth Cong members to quit enmasse over denial of ticket to Mithun Rai

Mangaluru, April 17, 2018: The Congress is in for more trouble in the district. Close on the heels of protests by  supporters of Uday Kumar Muniyal in Karkala, after he was denied a ticket, in Mangaluru, Youth Congress members have decided to resign enmasse  opposing denial of ticket to  District Youth Congress President Mithun Rai who was an aspirant from Moodbidri constituency.

Speaking to reporters here, several Youth Congress leaders said  they were greatly disappointed after Mithun Rai was denied a ticket despite Congress President Rahul Gandhi promising tickets for more young faces.

They Also pointed out that Mithun was active in Moodbidri ever since sitting MLA Abhayachandra Jain said he would not be contesting. Making it clear that they were  not happy with the party decision, they said they will stand by Mithun in whatever stand he takes.

They also said they were unable to contact Mithun.

Abhinandan Belthangady, Merryl Rego, Kiran Kumar, Sohail Kandak and others were present.

Leaders from various Youth Congress blocks of the district have reportedly decided to tender resignation.
