Young woman arrested for smuggling ganja into district prison

Mangaluru, Au 19, 2016 : A young woman from Kasaba Bengre has been arrested on August 18, Thursday on the charges of attempting to smuggle ganja inside the District Prison in Mangaluru.

It is learnt that the woman named Fathima (21) had concealed nearly 47 grams ganja worth Rs 2000 inside her clothes to be given to a  prisoner named Asif.

However, the Central Industrial Security Force personnel who on security duty at the prison  gathered hint of the same and  detained her. She has been handed over to Barke Police Station and was subsequently produced before the court.

The accused Fathima has been remanded to judicial custody. Sources said Fathima’s husband Abdul Rahim who was arrested for ganja smuggling some time back was released just recently.
