Yoga is good for a healthy life

Mangaluru, May 5, 2015:  Speaking at the valedictory  of ’Yoga Sparsha’, a yoga camp organised by Patanjali Yoga Pitha at the premises of Shri Bharathi College in Nanthoor on May 3,  Mangaluru Ramakrishna Mutt president Swami Jithakamananda said,  If not followed with discipline, yoga will only be a set of exercises.


Ivan DSouzaYoga is much more than body postures.  The Swami added Yoga should accompany moral values. Only then, real results of yoga will be available. Yoga practitioners should follow non-violence, truth, control of mind etc. This will help in realising the true self  he added.

MLC Ivan D’Souza said that Yoga is an investment  for holistic healthy life. If practised systematically , it will be a help in in the long term and  prevent many diseases along with bringing peace and wellness. Yoga promotes a healthy life and is a leap forward for a better and healthy society. He also mentioned  he has been practising yoga regularly and it had benefitted him to an extent which can not be measured.

MLC Capt Ganesh Karnik said that unhealthy competition these days has led to wrong lifestyles. Peaceful life, can be achieved by Yoga and a regular practice schedule. United Nations has declared June 21 as International Day for Yoga. A bright future of the nation should come from cleanliness drives that can make a  good change in the society.

MLA B A Mohiyuddin Bava said that several countries now use  yoga; it is a tribute to our nation, where Yoga originated.  Yoga trainer Prasanna Dikshith said Patanjali Yoga Pita has trained at least 17 lakh people in the State by organising camps. He urged the government to include yoga in school curriculum and so on.
