Mangaluru, Sep 12, 2015 : Two former chief ministers of the state must apologise to people of the district for  being responsible for the implementation of the Yettinahole Project, said senior Congress leader B Janardhana Poojary. Speaking to reporters at the District Congress office on September 12, Saturday, Poojary said the district which was facing water scarcity cannot provide water to other districts.

On Health Minister Khader’s comments that experts would be summoned to the district to answer queries of the anti-Yettinahole protestors, Poojary said what purpose would it serve when Khader has made no efforts to  stop the project. At the same time Poojary appealed to the anti-Yettinahole agitators to hold peaceful protest.

Poojary also lashed out at the BJP for its Raitha Chaitanya Yatre organised  in the backdrop of suicides of farmers. On power shortage, he said all MPs of the state must raise the issue in Parliament.

Touching upon the ban on sale of meat in some BJP ruled states in the wake of Paryushan festival of Jains, Poojary said  the BJP was using the issue to create communal tension.
Stating that meat export contributed significantly to Gujarat’s economy, Poojary challenged the Prime Minister to ban meat export if he could.

He also stated that he would be organising Brahmakalashotsva during the Dasara this year and pray for good  rainfall in the state.
