Yettinahole Project will not affect DK, claims CM Siddaramaiah

Mangaluru Apr 21, 2016: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah inaugurated the  Exit road of Mangaluru International Airport on Thursday, April 21. The Chief Minister who was scheduled to arrive at 9.30 am  was behind schedule by nearly two hours and reached at 11.15 am.

Speaking to media persons on the occasion, the Chief Minister claimed that the Yettinahole Project will not affect Dakshina Kannada District. The project takes only excess rain water and there is more than 24 TMC of water in Yettinahole during the monsoon, he said.

"There is lack of understanding among people who oppose the project. They are unaware  about the planning of the project," he said adding the government will implement several projects to mitigate the problems of drought-hit areas.

 District In-Charge Minister Ramanath Rai, Health Minister UT Khader, MLC Ivan D’Souza, MLA Mohiudeen Bava, Deputy Commissioner A.B.Ibrahim, Mayor Harinath and others were present.
