Yeshwantpur-Karwar express arrival at Mangaluru revised

Mangaluru, June 5,2017: A media news says that Railways have revised the arrival timing of the weekly Express at Mangaluru Junction to 4.55 p.m. from the current 5.40 p.m., a reduction of 45 minutes in journey hours.

The revised timings will come into effect from June 7, Wednesday, said a communique from South Western Railway here.

Train Nos. 16515/516 were diverted to run via the new Bengaluru-Hassan line from June first week instead of the earlier Tumakur-Arsikere route.

The Hindu as well as several rail fan associations had pointed out that the diversion of trains via the shortest route did reduce the journey only by 10 minutes.

They had also pointed out that the Yeshwantpur-Karwar train takes 1.48 hours to traverse 15 km between Bantwal and Mangaluru Junction.

After the diversion, the train Yeshwantpur at 7.10 a.m. instead of the original timing of 7 a.m.

There is no change in its timing between Mangaluru Junction and Karwar.

Karwar-Yeshwantpur Express leaves Mangaluru Junction at 11.30 a.m. to reach Yeshwantpur at 8.30 p.m. However, the arrival of Yeshwantpur-Mangaluru Junction Gomateshwara Express (16575) is not yet revised.
