Mangaluru, Jan 23,2017 : State BJP President and former chief minister BS Yeddyurappa has exuded confidence that justice would be done in the case relating to Kambala when the High Court delivers its verdict on January 30.
Addressing media persons at the District BJP Office here on January 23, Monday, Yeddyurappa said Kambala had a close bondage with the tradition and culture of the region.
Referring to the second vented dam at Thumbay, Yeddyurappa stressed that farmers who would lose land due to the project should be provided proper compensation. He also said that a proper survey has to be done.
Yeddyurappa alleged that there was a total breakdown of the law and order situation and said several cases of murders and attacks have been taking place with the police failing to arrest the culprits in most cases.
Yeddyurappa claimed that the Centre has provided Rs 1,782 crores to the state and alleged that the state was making false statements that funds have not been provided.
On Yettinahole, Yeddyurappa said that the government has to first take the people of the district into confidence and also hold debate on the scientific report of the project. He said he has no objection in providing water if more water was available.
