Yakshagana Bombeyata documentary for puppetry festival

Mangaluru, Jan 1, 2015: The Yakshagana Bombeyata documentary, directed by Kiranraj K., has been selected for screening at the Dhatu International Puppet Festival being conducted by Dhatu Puppet Theatre, Bengaluru, from January 2.

The documentary has been produced by Sri Gopalakrishna Yakshagana Bombeyata Sangha Director K.V. Ramesh. The sangha is working towards taking the Yakshagana Bombeyata to the next generation by promoting the art. Various efforts behind the puppet show, including the strain taken by the display artist, are recorded in the documentary, Mr. Kiranraj said in a release.

The documentary was released on December 25 at the Yakshaputhali Bombemane, Pilikunja, Kasaragod. It would be screened at 10 a.m. on January 3 during the puppet festival. Artists from across the world were participating in the festival, he said.
