World No Tobacco Day observed in city

Mangalore, May 31: The Indian Dental Association, the AJ Institute of Dental Sciences, and the Dakshina Kannada Autorickshaw Drivers’ Association observed World No Tobacco Day at Indian Medical Association on May 31, Tuesday.

Ivan D’Souza, the president of the DK Autorickshaw Drivers’ Association and the general secretary of the KPCC, was the chief guest. The students of AB Shetty Memorial College staged a street play on the ill effects of tobacco opposite Central Market and Mangalore Central Railway Station. 


Dr. Sanjay Nayak told Mangalore Today that 70 auto rickshaw drivers have already registered names for free dental camp at the mobile hospital of AJ Institute of Dental Science and that around 200 drivers are expected to participate in the free dental camp. The DK Bus Drivers’ Association will also participate in this camp.


Dr. Shubam Alva, the president of IDA; Dr. Jeethesh; Dr. Murali; and many others were also present.
