World Blood Donors’ Day observed

Mangaluru,June 14,2017 : World Blood Donors Day 2017 was observed at the RAPCC Auditorium here on June 14, Wednesday   under the aegis of the District Branch of the Indian Red Cross Society’s Blood Bank.

Speaking as a chief guest on the  occasion,  MP Nalin Kumar Kateel said blood donation not only gives a new lease of life to an individual but will also contribute a great deal in bringing about a transformation in the society.

 

 

 

 

 

There has been no substitute for human blood despite the medical technology field witnessing tremendous progress, he said adding there was a  need for growing awareness on the importance of blood donation.

Dr M  R Ravi, ZP CEO, Dr Shantharam Shetty, District Chairman of Indian Red Cross Society, Dr M Annayya Kulal Ultur of Indian Medical Association, Dr Shantaram Baliga,  B Ravindra Shetty, Vijaya Bank DGM Sudhaker Nayak and others were present.

Those who  donated blood  the highest number of times as well as organisations which have organised blood donation camps were honoured on the occasion.
