World AIDS Day 2016 : Awareness campaign by A J Hospital & Research Centre

Mangaluru, Dec 01, 2016 : World aids day is celebrated by A J Hospital&Research Centre today December 01, Thursday  to raise the public awareness about AIDS (Acquired Immuno Deficiency Syndrome). Free blood tests were conducted in the AJHRC Premises as a part of AIDS awareness campaign.

Speaking on the occasion AJIMS&RC Dean, Dr. Ashok Hegde said ,celebration of this day espically  offers the key opportunity to the health organizations to increase the awareness among people, most possible access to the treatment as well as discussing the preventive measures. Among the current problems facing the world, perhaps the biggest of them all are AIDS and HIV infections. There is a common misapprehension that AIDS can pass on to others through mosquito bites, showing affection by embracing or kissing which has led to isolation of AIDS patients.
Awareness drives and efforts are organized by the AJ Team in order to promote health sex habits among the masses among other things.

The science of treatment and prevention has much to inspire agencies delivering needed services to people living with, and at risk of, HIV.

We know that there are significant health benefits for people with HIV to begin treatment as soon as possible after diagnosis. Early treatment with good adherence in order to maintain an undetectable viral load allows an HIV-positive person to live a long and healthy life.
