Mangaluru Apr 05, 2016 : Citizens Forum for Mangalore Development organized a Workshop on April 4th Monday at 2pm in Shree Devi College of Physiotherapy, Ballalbagh on ‘Social Media Network for Human Welfare’ in association with Department of Master of Communication and Media Studies (MCMS), students of St Aloysius College. The resource person for the event was Ms Juby Thomas, Assistant Professor, St. Aloysius College Mangalore.

Social media plays an important role in creating awareness and influencing beliefs attitudes and practices. It is one of the fastest growing areas of online activity, and one of the fastest growing areas for malicious cyber activity. Social networking has become most popular activity in today’s Internet world, with billions of people across the world are using this media to meet old friends, making new friends, to collect and share information, social networking while being a popular media has several disadvantages associated with it. It makes and breaks relationships.
