This was informed to reporters here on January 28, Tuesday by Sajida Mumeen of We The People.   She said  it was a matter of great concern that   people who turn  their back to  Gandhian ideals and    those who support Godse are becoming the elected representatives   72 years after Gandhiji’s martyrdom. She said the Satyagraha is being held to sensitize the present generation on Gandhian ideals and the significance of protection of Constitution.

She said around 150 women will take part in the Satyagraha from 10 am to 4.30 pm and that it would be a silent Satyagraha. A human chain will also be formed at  5.17 pm that day,  at the exact time when Gandhi was assassinated in 1949,  Sajida  informed.

Social activist Vidya Dinker, Suhasini Babbukatte, Terry Pais and others were present.
