Woman from Sri Lanka comes all the way to Karkala in search of estranged hubby

Karkala, Jan 14, 2016:  A Sri Lankan woman  who fell in love with  a man from Irvattur in Karkala and married him in Kuwait in 2012, is now in Karkala in search of her husband. She has even filed a complaint with the local  police and ASP Sumana  has assured justice to the woman.

The woman named  K.R. Rafiya     who worked as a beautician in Kuwait  had fallen in love with Syed Mohin Yusuf who also worked in the same city and the two had married  in 2012 in the presence of Muslim clerics. According to Rafiya, Yusuf who left for India in 2013 to attend his sister’s wedding had since then not returned and she was even unaware of his whereabouts.

After a futile wait for him, she has now landed in Karkala in an effort to trace her husband. She has gathered that Yusuf had married a woman from Kaup, but still says she was ready to lead a life with him.

Though Yusuf who was summoned to the station, denied the allegation of Rafiya  the latter has produced documents pertaining to their marriage as well as some photos.
