Mangaluru, June 11, 2015: A woman from Meenakaliya in Baikampady was killed in a bull attack close by her home on June 10, Wednesday.
The deceased is Revathi (58),a fish seller by profession. Revathi who as usual was returning home after selling fish at the Urva market at around 4.30 was accosted by two fighting bulls near her house. Just as she somehow managed to enter her house, one of the bulls all of a sudden attacked her inflicting serious head and abdomen injuries to her.
Though she was immediately rushed to the hospital, her life could not be saved. Revathi’s husband too is a fish seller, while her son worked in a fishing boat.
Panambur Police have registered a case.
Though stray cattle and also bulls are commonly spotted in the area, this is the first time a bull has attacked a woman in a way causing panic among locals.
