Woman commits suicide jumping into well in Bhatkal

Bhatkal, August 31, 2019: A woman committed suicide by jumping into a well on August 30, 2019. It was her second act after she had survived a suicide attempt along with her lover on August 28. The victim is identified as Sangeeta Naika aged 23, a resident of Bidramane of Kaykini village, near Bhatkal.

Both Sangeetha Naika (23) and her lover Gagan Naika  (28) had  mutually agreed to end their life together and consumed poison in a forest area on Wednesday, August 28. Gagan Naika died on the spot  but Sangeetha survived. She was found unconscious by some people and got her admitted to a private hospital.

She returned to her house on the next day and believed to have jumped into a well in her compound. Her body was found by her father, Madava Naika on August 30. He filed a complaint in the Police station at Murdeshwar.
